About the Speaker - Vaishnavi Jaiswal is a 16-year-old, social entrepreneur, innovator, and gender-equality activist passionate about leveraging science and technology to create social change, based in, Gorakhpur, India. Aiming to end gender barriers and stereotypes in male-dominated career fields, she founded a non-profit, Salubrious, to empower, encourage and educate women to pursue their dreams, reaching over 50,000+ women across 45+ countries so far. Passionate to solve real-world problems using STEM, she has invented devices promoting sustainability, technology, and clean energy. Vaishnavi is a 2022 Global Teen Leader and is also recognized by the late Princess Diana of Wales with the Diana Award, as well as the 41st President of the United States with the George HW Bush Point of Light Award, for her work with Salubrious, empowering and educating women around the world. She is currently working on her social venture, STEAM Forward, and doing projects with UNICEF & UN Women, educating young people through her change-making and innovation journey to inspire students to tackle the world’s greatest problems through leadership, creativity, and innovation.
