No matter how much we care or how hard we try, we can never do the inner work for someone else. Each of us is responsible for our own journey and well-being, and that’s exactly how it should be. Ten years later, I had the opportunity to participate in a research study at Yale, led by Dr. Al Powers, comparing people who identified as clairaudient and embraced the wise voices of their intuition and spirit guides with those who were distressed by the voices in their heads. In this episode, I had the honor of interviewing Dr. Powers and Dr. Alexandria Bond to learn more about this fascinating and important research. We discuss the so-called “psychotic spectrum” and how the lens through which we view our “voice hearing” experiences can have a powerful impact on whether those voices seem helpful or harmful to us.
