Confidence is one of those things that can be hard to navigate, sticky even. We live in a society that is constantly asking us to “show up as our best selves” while simultaneously making us feel like we are not enough. So how can we as business owners, as people find the strength and courage to show up and say “this is me, take it or leave it”. How can we find success in our businesses, AND in our lives? I am a firm believer in the gradual becoming of things. Taking time and easing yourself in. People tend to think that amplifying your voice is all about being loud, but this is not the case. I believe amplification can be and look like whatever you choose. Today’s guest has found a way to amplify her voice and that of the passionate women around her. Join the fiery Hannah Pillow and I for an amazing conversation on amplification, confidence and giving ourselves grace. Tune in to hear Hannah share more about the importance of letting things happen when they need to happen, how she is navigating grief, and why in her experience, nothing is ever nothing. We’ve had so many conversations about the journey, about what it takes to live a whole, fulfilling and aligned life. As many of you folks have found, the journey often includes a lot of “work”. It’s easy to get caught up in what we think the “work” should look like, in how the journey should unfold. But often we aren’t taught to surrender to ease or to do the work sustainably. Like many things in life, it all boils down to what works for you. What does making space for ease look like for you? What does success feel like to you? What about sustainability? As humans we often encounter the conundrum of “just being” mainly because letting in and trusting ease can be one of the hardest things to do, and as women and entrepreneurs we are taught that hard work is the only way to success. But often the societal ideas behind the concept of hard work ask us to grind and push and take us farther and farther away from a life of ease, sustainability and authenticity. Today’s guest is someone that is learning the value of slowing down, being intentional and prioritizing the inner work. Join Carly Jo Bell and I as we color and journey together and talk all things sustainability. Tune in to hear more about what it takes to create an easy and sustainable life and business, the value of giving ourselves space to be whole and why sustainability always makes space for things to shift with time. Meet the Artist: Carly Jo Bell Carly Jo Bell is an authentic business coach, podcaster, cat mom and plant lover based in sunny Los Angeles, California. Carly is passionate about helping big-hearted entrepreneurs like you show up authentically, stand out confidently, and communicate clearly. Carly is proof that you can have a big heart and make bank from your biz and through her business WholeCo Media, she teaches entrepreneurs how to make more sales easily (without icky tactics), so they can finally create sustainable success in their businesses. After nearly two years of trying to grow her business without much success, Carly took a step back, scrapped everything and decided to play to her strengths giving us the WholeCo motto: “look external for ideas, but internal for answers.” Through her work with WholeCo media and her podcast, Selling Chocolate, Carly hopes to empower entrepreneurs like you to carve your own path by only doing what feels good. Listen in as Carly Shares: The one factor that makes doing the external strategic work for your business easier Why hard work isn’t the opposite of ease More on her commitment to living a whole life and being a whole human Why “good enough” is always going to be subjective Lessons from therapy: why it is okay to be wounded How we can empower the people we serve as entrepreneurs Her views on sustainability and why it comes down to tiny shifts How to find the magic in your life and business Connect with Carly: Learn more about WholeCo Media Join Carly and other big-hearted entrepreneurs in her free Facebook Group, Big-hearted Entrepreneurs Selling Authentically Tune in to her podcast, Selling Chocolate Follow Carly on Facebook Connect via LinkedIn: Carly Jo Bell Connect with me Podcast website: www.headphonesandcrayons.com Coloring Community: www.colorfulcrew.com Follow me on Instagram: @headphonesandcrayons Connect via LinkedIn: Nikita Burks-Hale

As travelers on this journey, there comes a time when we are called to step into our power. But what does this look like when we find that society already has a notion of what power and leadership are? This "friction" results in us finding ourselves embodying power in a way that feels inauthentic. Personally and transparently, it took me a long time to realize that my true power and my voice come from me living in my full truth. I speak about my experiences in a way that feels good for me and that is enough. This journey of embodying one's power is uncomfortable and can bring up a lot of emotions, but what if we could make room for what comes? What if the sensations we experience were meant to be felt and released? Today’s guest is someone that has truly leaned in and explored her source of power and how it shows up. Join Alexia Vernon and I for a beautiful conversation on tapping into the power of your voice. Tune in to hear more about her business and mission in life: ‘Step into Your Moxie®’, her childhood and how it has influenced her ability to use her voice, and why her greatest desire is to give permission for different styles of leadership and communication to feel validated and worthy. Meet the Artist: Alexia Vernon Alexia Vernon is a sought-after speaker, coach, consultant and media contributor based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Whether she is keynoting a conference, leading a spotlight speaker coaching program or delivering her Step into Your Moxie® curriculum, her work is showing entrepreneurs, business leaders, consultants and change makers how to fall (back) in love with their voices. Alexia believes that heart-centered, high impact communication and unshakeable stage presence is more about the inner work than it is about finding the right words. Therefore, she dedicates her life to teaching women entrepreneurs how to walk into any room, any conversation, at any stage and unapologetically speak up for themselves and the issues they believe in. Alexia is the author of Step into Your Moxie: Amplify Your Voice Visibility, and Influence in the World. She is the creator and leader of multiple speaker training programs and has delivered transformational keynotes and corporate trainings for Fortune 500 companies and professional associations. She has spoken at the United Nations, delivered a TEDx talk on the future of feminism, and been featured by media including CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Inc., and Women’s Health. She is a mom and runs her business, Alexia Vernon Empowerment, LLC, with her partner in business and in life, Stephen Oliveira. Listen in as Alexia shares: Why she is no longer looking for work-life balance (and what works instead) How her voice has shifted over the last 18 months and why she believes this is her super power Why stagefright is about more than just speaking The profound experience that taught her the importance of standing in her truth More on how Trauma influences how we show up in the world How we can learn to play nice with difficult sensations (and why the sensation is not the problem) Lessons she has learned on her purpose and surrendering control: why letting go of control is the gift Connect with Alexia: Learn more about the amazing Alexia Vernon Let Alexia teach you how to Step into Your Moxie Check out her book Tune in to an episode of her podcast Moxielicious Follow her on Instagram: @alexiavernon Find her on Twitter: @AlexiaVernon Connect on LinkedIn: Alexia Vernon Connect with me: Podcast website: www.headphonesandcrayons.com Coloring Community: www.colorfulcrew.com Follow me on Instagram: @headphonesandcrayons Connect via LinkedIn: Nikita Burks-Hale

What does justice mean to you? What does it look like for us to harness the power we have to shift our culture? The great Dr. Cornel West once said, “Justice is what love looks like in public”. As a black woman, as a person of color, the pursuit of justice and a more fair and equitable world is something that I fight for. There is no chance of opting out, it is my real life. Justice means different things to each of us but, I think that we can agree that it requires love. Justice requires that we hold up the contrast all around us and that we hold space for humanity, both our own and the humanity of those around us. It is indeed a journey, but one that I believe we must all make. Today’s coloring session is special as I am joined by the passionate Kelly Diels. Join Kelly and I for a vulnerable conversation on justice and making space for joy. Tune in to hear more about the moment that led to Kelly dedicating herself to “this love work”, how she is finding space to pursue her joy, and why she believes there is no such thing as falling behind. Meet the Artist: Kelly Diels Kelly Diels is a Feminist Business Consultant, educator, thinker, writer, mama, lover and fighter living in the unceded territories of the Stó:lō Nation. Kelly describes herself as a coach for culture makers and works with people that are trying to shape the world and to dismantle all forms of oppression using whatever resources they have available to them. She’s here to raise awareness about how the business-as-usual formulas we learn everywhere actually reproduce oppression and she develops and teaches alternate, feminist marketing tools to help us do it differently. Kelly’s business is based on three tenets, to help culture makers personally get out of shame and into power and use it to change EVERYTHING, professionally grow a business that makes money and justice, and politically co-create a future in which we all flourish. Listen in as Kelly Shares: Why it is important that we hold contrast together What we can learn from releasing the fear of falling behind (and why it doesn’t exist) The rapture moment that urged her to use her voice for change How she has decided to use her power and privilege to fight for justice Why it is important that we feel for each other and how this opens us up to our own humanity Ways that she is learning to pursue joy and self-care even when doing heavy work Her mediations of happiness and joy and why it is okay to like what we like Why we don’t need to earn happiness More on the role of unity and community in shifting culture Connect with Kelly: Learn more about Kelly and her wonderful work on her website Follow her on Twitter: @KellyDiels Find her on Facebook Tune in to her YouTube Connect via LinkedIn: Kelly Diels Connect with me Podcast website: www.headphonesandcrayons.com Coloring Community: www.colorfulcrew.com Follow me on Instagram: @headphonesandcrayons Connect via LinkedIn: Nikita Burks-Hale

It can be easy to forget that your voice is powerful. Sometimes, we are afraid to stand up for ourselves, for other folks, or even for the things we believe in. Today I am coloring, journeying, and chatting with the amazing Jessica Kupferman. Join Jessica and I as we talk about why our voices have power and why we are choosing to use them.
